RDX 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

Rear shocks make an odd noise over certain bumps and potholes... hard to define exactly when it happens or why. It is hardly noticeable in the front seats, and the ride does not seem to have got worse so I'm not going to worry about it for now. Car is out of warranty so it would be several hundred to get it diagnosed and replaced. Unless the ride gets worse or the noise gets more noticeable, probably not going to replace them.

RDX 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

Car suspension has been very shrill and unstable since early days of owning the car. Rough roads and bumps are rattly and feels like car is bottoming out. Dealership shrugs their shoulders when brought up. They say the car is tuned like a "sports car.". Drove various other SUVs, rentals, etc that don't appear to perform this bad.

RDX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

Car now has 16,000 miles. When potholes began to appear, driving over them even at low speeds generated a rear suspension noise that sounded like the car was bottoming out or had a broken strut. ACURA replaced the dampers in the rear struts but that did not solve the problem. They drove the car after I returned it and indicated they heard the problem and were aware of it but there is no fix from ACURA for it. They also indicated they drove 4 other RDXs and heard the same problem in all 4 cars. Summer driving on well maintained roads is fine.
