I took my 2010 RDX to the dealership where it was purchased, for them to look at some spots where paint was peeling off the hood and a few other places. The service manager said I would need to go to an offsite body shop for an "estimate". At the body shop, two guys looked at the issue (one guy was an expert in paint), he said the issue could possibly be due to a factory paint defect. The other guy said it was from bird droppings. I explained to them, I wash my car on a regular basis and never allow bird dropping to stay on the vehicle for any extended amount of time.
During our 15 minute conversation one of the guys wrote down notes. After our conversation, I was sent to a waiting area for the estimate to be completed. After about 30 minutes, the manager came out and said the estimate would be processed and sent over to the dealership and that I would need to go back to the dealership in a few weeks to discuss the results and procedure for getting my vehicle fixed.
I dropped by the dealership two weeks later and spoke with a gentleman in the service area. The guy was very arrogant and basically treated me like my situation was a joke. He asked me to wait by the car and he would be right back. Upon, returning he brought another guy (the manager) with him. He said, they were not aware of my situation and had nothing on file from the body shop, I remind him that I was sent to the body shop by someone there at there dealership.
They both looked at the vehicle and the 2nd guy was just as arrogant as the first. They laughed and the 1st guy said, I checked and we have no record of receiving a estimate from the body shop. I explained to them the conversation I had with the two guys at the body shop and that the paint expert mentioned the issue could possibly be due to a factory paint defect. They both laughed again and said no this is clearly due to bird droppings and they would not pay for the paint to be fixed.
This dealership has always provided second to none, top notch service. I was surprise to be treated like a child. Due to this experience, I will not only never buy another vehicle from this dealership, I'll never buy a vehicle from a company that lacks in quality. I shared my experience with my friends and family that also own Acuras. This is ridiculous! I paid a lot of money for what I thought was for a quality vehicle and was treated like a joke with zero respect! I was totally given the run around and the dealership had absolutely NO intentions of resolving this issue. Shame on this dealership and management for allowing this type of behavior.
