I took my 2007 RDX for service due to the Takata Inflator Recall. The dealership replaced the part and the clicking sound went away but after a few months it came back. I contacted the dealership about the problem their response is they already fixed it so now its my responsibility.
I decided to get rid of the vehicle and never buy another Honda/Acura again. Fast forward 2019. I still have the vehicle, which I drive sparingly, as the clicking sound continues. In March saw on the news that Honda had to issue another recall for the same airbag due to the fact that they replaced the inflator with another Takata product which is also proving to be defective.
I called Acura USA customer relations and I am being told that despite the fact my vehicle was recalled and serviced for the airbag , this time it does not qualify. On what basis they did not say, but my vehicle is still producing the clicking sound and I am getting check engine lights for the issue. This means it is going to be a battle again for Honda to accept liability which they are indicating they do not want to. I suppose i must wait for an accident and become a part of the statistics for them to accept liability.
I have made it my resolve that Honda / Acura will not be on my list when I purchase my next vehicle.
