Bought my 2016 Acura MDX in September 2015. Immediately noticed issues with the transmission - jerking, lunging, rigid transition when switching gears. It was the most jerky ride possible for a brand new luxury vehicle. I complained about the transmission every single time I brought the car in for service or other minor issues. The standard response was that is how the 9-speed transmission drives. I brought the car to the dealership at 9,836 miles complaining about the transmission once again. They verified the problem, found a "bulletin" about the problem and did an update through the car's computer system. It didn't help. I continued to complain and in Dec 2017 they verified a problem existed and found a campaign for the ATF warmer and performed another update and replaced the warmer. Transmission still behaved erratically. In Aug 2018 I started hearing a chirping noise around 20 mph coming from the engine. This time they found an internal failure of the transmission and replaced the transmission. The transmission is still jerky and lunges. Worse decision I ever made to purchase this car.
