We bought a new 2014 Acura MDX, loved it and had no problems. At 47,760 miles, while at dealer for oil change the battery was a little low but because we hadn't driven the car in a couple of weeks, dealer thought that was probably the issue. Drove an hour home and a week later the car wouldn't start. Charged it and four days later it was again dead. So at 47,910 miles, purchased a heavy duty Delco battery for $137 from our local tire/battery dealer.
Ten days later, after driving around 1,500 miles on vacation, let the car sit for one day; next morning battery dead. Got it started, went to an area Acura dealer and they diagnosed a bad battery, no drain detected by computer so cost $175.00 for analysis and battery. Because our new battery was not an Acura battery they wouldn't honor the Delco warranty and the battery they put installed was not as heavy duty but the car was fixed at 49,499 miles.
Everything fine for thirteen days and then new Acura battery barely started the car. Borrowed a charger at a motel, charged it up and drove back to the same dealer and they checked it over and said everything fine, no drain detected, no charge for inspection. A few days later we bought our own charger, connected it and the battery was less than 60 percent but came back up to 100 percent in about a half hour. That lasted about four days and then low again in shorter period of time.
I was reading online that there is a Class Action Suit for 2005 to 2013 Acura's because a Hands Free Link switch sticks on and causes a battery drain even when car turned off. If you get the part replaced for around $1,000, the new part might go out also.
We have unplugged everything possible and disconnected the phone from the Bluetooth Hands Free Link.

In three days, we have an appointment with the dealer because it has been just over two weeks from our last dealer visit and the car won't go two days without a charge. We are going to ask them to disconnect the HFL component, even though it is "not a problem on the MDX 2014's". We can't believe that when you pay over $50,000 for an automobile, you have to charge the battery before you dare drive.
Does anyone have another fix other than disconnecting the HFL which is an important safety feature?
Update from Apr 10, 2019: Believe it or not.. After spending around $500.00, including renting a car for three days and leaving the MDX at the dealership, the problem was a lose ground wire underneath the battery... Once it was tightened, problem fixed..
