The Service Bulletin 16-044 states, "A shudder from the torque converter lock-up may be felt while driving between 20 and 60mph. Why wasn't there a recall and why was I charged for this repair? And what is the possible damage to the torque converter as the result of this software problem?

This vehicle has had a transmission slip since purchase. Taken to Acura multiple times, transmission checked, and torque converter replaced. Now as of 2017 the issue is a computer software problem in the transmission computer, supposedly, and an update from Honda that is going to take care of the problem. The local dealer (so far) has been accommodating, but they basically did not know how to fix the slip, and the transmission fluid is heating up and breaking down. If your trans is slipping make sure you mention to your dealer that there is supposedly a software update for the trans computer. It is currently at the dealer, hopefully this update will fix the problem.

Update from Dec 10, 2017: YES! The software update fixed the problem. No more slushy trans.

Picture this, you want to merge into the right hand lane between 2 vehicles, you signal, slow down and slide over, then accelerate to get into the space. BUT there's no response from the gas pedal/transmission, your heart skips a beat, and after 2-3 seconds the trans finally kicks in. That's the problem. The transmission hesitates.
