Bought this 87 Acura Legend from a dealership. Multitude of problems right off the bat. Three days after purchase, oil leak under car. Then, car began to overheat. Had repairs made to the tune of $500.00, now car thermostat still not right, idling too high, car literally shakes when the engine gets heated up. Engine running very rough when car is on the road for awhile. Now mechanic says there is not much he can do, needs more work, this time engine and possibly transmission related. His advice was not to invest anymore in the car - just let it die or take our chances and take it to a transmission shop. He said a new transmission would be $$$. Consumer Reports listed used Acura Legend a good bet. Our loss and stupidity for going solely on a consumer report. We are so sorry now that we did not have the car checked out by a qualified mechanic before our purchase or we could have saved ourselves from purchasing this lemon of a car. Wondering if we were scammed with a junk car. Still awaiting title from dealership that has since "closed". Something stinks about this whole deal. Paid $1900.00, and now have invested additional $580.00. Totally, sick about it. Wish we had a way to come back on dealership for our rotten deal... Will never buy an Acura again!!!! Our other car is a 1993 Buick LeSabre, an awesome car. 9 years and we have only invested in wear and tear on this car. We have been told that if you change the oil, Buicks will last and last. I believe it. My next car will be a Buick.
