Recall center called to facility 2021 into shop for air bag inflator. When she realized $15k+ in damage to vehicle and personal injury to driver, she denied recall even though she referenced the specific vehicle and hung up. 5 months pass and no replacement assembly. Told indeterminate amount of time but don't expect under 12 more months; then, dealership is 7th on list (in state, country or world?). Escalates to corporate whom states they will review and get back. Only reason is to see if client will get an attorney.
Acura rolling off new cars but not supplying to existing customers. Won't suspend payment without continuing to accrue interest, won't rework finance for the current balance of only $16k (yes they have no incentive), offered $400 lease then upped to $700, requested purchase of new but they only wanted to upsell to $38k (was $34k when I purchased mine), and won't do trade-in based on them receiving part (shows how much they trust their own corporation, not). Reported to FTC, Consumer Finance, Acura Corporate, Nat'l Safety Traffic entity... no true help.
Takata (?) forced millions of recalls, but doubt on my experience with a seat belt in my RSX if this was ever truly done. Honda/Mercedes build new plant. Why would you put Takata in charge? So, why were they surprised that this entity filed bankruptcy. Now you know why USA should manufacture and stop outsourcing everything and anything to other countries.
DO NOT BUY ACURA. DO NOT BUY ACURA. DO NOT BUY ACURA.
