I went to several auto parts companies only to have them tell me that they don't have the "bayonet" type gas cap.
Only dealer has this kind of gas cap. Thanks for vendor lock VW! What's next? slightly oval wheels so that only VW hubcaps can fit?
Bastards. The dealer even told me he can't take it back if I try it and it doesn't fit "if you install it I can't sell it as 'new' " ... yea cuz you know, screw it in once and it's tainted forever.
VW SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THIS PRICE GOUGING TACTIC!!! Other cars do fine with $8 gas caps and still pass emissions! Some even have locking mechanisms!!
