This car has auto-leveling headlights that seem to point downwards while driving. I can't see more than 50 feet in front of me at night. The headlights do not even reach the car in front of me. I have to stick to well lit roads. Driving on a highway at night is a challenging and scary experience. I'm often forced to drive around with my high-beams on.
It has been like this since I bought the car, I regret not test driving the vehicle at night. I've brought the car in to the dealer several times for this issue. Each time the dealer says the headlights "pass" and that there's nothing wrong. I don't know if their equipment is wrong, if it's lack of training, incompetence or all three, but they claim my headlights are working perfectly. It could be that it does in fact "pass" when the vehicle is stationary but only presents while it is moving. They refuse to even consider the problem because it isn't a "known issue" in their database. And because it isn't a known issue, they have no way to bill the work to the warranty (so they say). They outright refused to help and have told me to call Kia consumer affairs. Kia too has been useless to resolve the problem, they just defer me back to the dealer since they are "not responsible for the service of the vehicle".
I would love to hear if anyone else has experienced this issue and how they got it resolved.
