Where do I begin? You would think with paying over $40,000 for a car that you're getting quality - not with Volkswagen! Exterior paint is pealing from the hood, roof, door handles, wheel flares. Started with this weird haze on the paint in 2010 then in a matter of several month the clear coat popped and now I have clear coat pealing everywhere on the car.
I called Volkswagen about it - and the lady said yes they know they had a problem with the pain but there was nothing they can do. Great! Just Great!. Now let's move inside - Again that special soft touch rubber like coating on buttons and switches all pealing! Looks horrible! On some of my buttons its now just a red glowing button cause there is no more rubber!
Let's talk about the electrical gremlins. There are MANY! Can't tell you how many times my Light Bulb light comes on randomly. My lights are working perfectly but that damn warning light keeps popping up. Have to turn off the car and restart to get the light to turn off. The AC is a constant problem. The car is actually in service as I write this for another AC problem.
The sunroof leaks into my headliner causing a nice stain near the back passenger roof handles. Volkswagen instead of issuing a warranty recall for the sunroof leak named it technical issue so they can get out of issuing a warranty.
My other car is a 2004 Chevy truck and it has aged so much better than this damn Touareg. Whenever someone asks me if I like my car I say F$#K NO! Don't ever buy Volkswagen! They don't stand behind their product and service costs are outrageously expensive. I will NEVER buy another German car EVER!
