Toyota has recalled many models for a defective brake actuator assembly. Highlanders, like mine, were recalled for years 06-07. Lexus was recalled and Prius 04-09 were recalled. They did not recall the 2008 Highlander Hybrid and it cost me $4700 to repair. I called Toyota Customer Support, and they pretty much said sorry, we can't help you. This is outrageous cost to repair a part the company knows is a problem. I cannot ignore a brake issue, so am taking a loan to pay for it.
