CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2010 Highlander's rear liftgate thinks it's open when it's closed and then once it's actually open, you might not be able to shut it again. Remember folks, if your liftgate is stuck open for more than 4 hours, consult your mechanic.

Our 2010 Highlander Limited came with a 5000LB tow package. However, when I tow my 2600LB dry weight boat it has substantial sag in the rear end over the rear axle. I would think that a vehicle with a 5000LB tow ability would not do this. I called the dealer's service department to complain and they verified that the vehicle has "softer" springs and no pneumatic adjustment. I also notice it sags a lot when we have the back loaded with equipment or items over 250LB. This is very very annoying, especially at night, since it causes the headlights to point straight up and oncoming traffic continues to flash me thinking I have my brights on. For a 40K+ vehicle, one would think this would NOT be an issue. I'm very dissatisfied with this.
