2010 F-150 Extended cab has rocker panels that have rusted out! There is only 57,000 miles on this truck. This is going to cost me a lot of money and I am so disappointed in Ford! This should have never happened. The rest of the truck is rust free!

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT A TRUCK WITH 62000 MILES AND 8 YEARS OLD WOULD BE SO ROTTED OUT. THE ENGINEERS DEFINITELY DROPPED THE BALL ON THE DESIGN AND WHEN THE TRUCK WAS BUILT THEY ONLY PUT TAPE OVER THE HOLES UNDER THE CAB. 2 PLUGS WERE NEVER INSTALLED LETTING WATER GET IN. UNACCEPTABLE.

rocker panels rusting rocker panels rusting

We have been a loyal customer of Ford for the last 18 years leasing over 9 different cars, SUVs, and trucks and one outright purchase of this truck. Last July my 2010 Ford F-150 was backed into and needed repairs. I took it to Autonation White Bear lake, MN for repairs and was told it on top of the insurance costs would cost $4300 to repair the rusted out rocket panels but they didn't have the parts. Then in August they said they had the parts but no loner car. So i had to wait until early Sept. Then brought my truck in and was told now the parts were twice as much. And after taking the truck apart found it also needed the inner panels replaced and they didn't have the parts. That was 6 months ago and still Ford says they can't get the parts due to a vendor that makes them their machine is broken. And I was told at the time since these rocker panels are critical to the strength and integrity of the cab they couldn't use "Used parts". Now I have been told Ford still can't produce the parts and the only option is to use "Used parts". My truck has been sitting there for now half a year not driven and not fixed as it should be with only "New parts" as I was told last fall. Toyota was sued for +$3 billion for similar issues with the Tundra and wonder if that is what it will take to get Ford to address this issue. I loved that truck but see no other choice but to trade it in on a non Ford truck.

Truck runs and still looks new. Rockers are rusting from inside causing paint to bubble. it wont be long that running boards will fall off and back door will not close when door bracket disappears. replacement of rockers is over 4,000 dollars. bad design and should of been recalled with holes in rockers covered with black tape. my first ford truck and my last.

I am very angry and disappointed in my Ford truck. Just after my factory warranty expired I noticed my 3rd brake light leaking very badly into my truck. I took it in and had it fixed under warranty at about 33,00 miles. Little did I know all the water that was leaking was sitting in my rockers and rusting it from the inside out. Now at 56,000 miles my truck is ruined.

I NOTICED the problem back in Jan. but waited till May before I took it to the dealer didn't want it fix during winter with all the salt and treatments on the roads. That was a mistake. They told me to call Ford. sure Ford would fix. It was the worst they had seen for a 2010 model. Ford gave me a case number AND waited two weeks. Called dealer because I hadn't heard from them. They said TO call Ford, there was a problem. Called Ford they said warranty ran out in Feb. NOTHING they could do. Said the woman who gave me the case number was new and made a mistake. Bullshit. My mistake was buying a truck from a company that cares nothing about customers or their trucks running up and down the road in this condition FORD tough, right look at mine then say THAT. Not happy
