Nearly all F-150's I've seen of this and similar years in areas where salt is used on the roads during winter experience this problem. Will fail a motor vehicle inspection. Keep the truck undercoated or you will end up replacing the entire bed. That is, assuming you can find one not suffering from the same problem.
