The engine bucks and sometime stalls immediately after fill-up, tank more than 1/2 empty. After that the vehicle runs fine. It's a safety hazard as this usually happens right when you are pulling into traffic . This problem is very specific and only happens after fill up. We had five repetitive occurrences. Chrysler wanted to replace gas tank and fuel pump; cost over $500.00.

My local mechanic knew about it. His statement: "It does not get enough air. Vents on charcoal filter, part of EVAP system, clogged." He cleaned them out with compressed air. He also cleaned the vents inside the gas access, right under the gas cap. He told me that sometimes he has to drill the vent holes if they are clogged too badly. My cost was zero since he was "my" garage. I'd guess someone else may charge you five bucks. He had to put the vehicle up to get access to the filter. In our 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, the filter was located under the driver's seat and had four vent holes, one in each corner where the two EVAP hoses come in and out. In other vehicles, the location may vary from under the hood to near the gas tank. I was there with him under the car and could see exactly what he did. Took an eight hour drive a few days later. Had five fill-ups since. No more problems since the repair.
