The original battery in my 2011 Subaru Outback only lasted 3.3 years. I replaced it in 2014 with an Optima RedTop AGM Group 25 battery and am surprised to report that battery lasted 9.1 years! Although the Optima RedTop AGM is a more expensive battery, I found it to be well worth the cost, as I've never had a battery in a daily-driver last that long. I did recently replace it with another RedTop AGM.
