Ok.... I've had my car for about a year now... I was the way to work over two months ago and it just shut off while I was riding. It would not crank back up. It also smelled of burnt rubber for a few seconds. I had a mechanic look at it. He said the timing belt broke... blah, blah, blah... then it was the air intake... blah blah blah. Well, now the damn thing won't stay cranked. You have to turn it over and hold it there for a second or two to kind of let the car catch itself. HOWEVER, once it's cranked if you let your foot off of the gas for ANY reason, the car shakes and shuts off. I do not know what's wrong with my car, being that I am female... so, before I go to a mechanic and get charged out of the ass... please see if you can maybe somehow tell me what this sounds like. I've been told by friends... something about the carboration or whatever. Thank you.
