Transmission died RIGHT IN FRONT of Disney World - cost $2000 to fix. Put a real damper on vacation. Ford did help with repair some - they had already acknowledged that the AX4OD was a junk transmission after I showed them the broken parts. The car was never right after that - it leaked fluid and shifted terribly. I got rid of it a couple of years later and got our first Japanese car ever - a Toyota Sienna. I seem to see a lot of Windstars at Pull-a-part (a junkyard) but very few of them are still on the road.
