The window trim on both sides of the front windshield became loose and then flew off of the vehicle while driving. The car has 3500 miles. Why is this not a recall? others have had this same issue I have learned by reading these forums.

The electronic power steering rack has failed on our vehicle. This I have seen is a problem Ford has had in the past and has still not remedied the problem. The out of pocket costs are $2500. The steering is unsafe and is allover the road. Further to this the power seat motor failed and they want $2500 to repair it. This I feel is very unfair and gouging.

Our '14 Explorer has consistently allowed exhaust gas to enter the passenger compartment upon 1/2 to full throttle acceleration. Still under warranty, the dealership said they would fix it for about $800! they said it was coming from exhaust entering the rear ac. Ac on or off makes no difference.

The driver side windshield trim flew off my vehicle while I was driving on the highway at approximately 70mph. This is the second trim piece that has ripped off my vehicle while driving. The passenger side blew off about a year ago when I was driving on the highway. I am worried that a large piece of plastic flying off my car at high speeds may hit another vehicle on the road and cause and accident or injure someone. I googled "Ford Explorer windshield trim problems" and there is a lot of complaints online. The dealership wants to charge me $290 to fix it but I feel like this problem is dangerous and is not something that should occur with normal wear and tear on the vehicle. Attached are photos of my car and the Ford estimate so you can see the parts numbers. Thank you for your help.

Passenger side windshield trim peeling back and separating from the windshield, heavy vibration noise occurs at speeds over 15 mph, at 65 it is deafening. No accident, no rough travel, this is a soccer mom car, that goes to school, supermarket and home. No rough history of washes. Driving on the highway going about 65 miles per hour, passenger windshield side panel flew off the my 2014 Ford Explorer truck that could have caused damages to other vehicles behind me or even an accident. I just bought the vehicle from a dealership about 2 months ago. I notified the dealership and was told the part is not under extended warranty and I would have to pay over $200 to get the panel replaced.

Driver's side window trim molding has come loose twice. This is a common problem with newer model Ford Explorer. Cost $200 to repair and not covered under extended warranty. Mine came loose while driving fortunately, other's have flown right off the trucks causing a safety issue for other vehicles behind the truck.

The passenger side windshield trim pillar flew off while on expressway. I could dealership, although they are aware of replacing the steel frame and trim it isnt covered under my warranty and not enough complaint for a recall. This part flew off, I could of hit a motorcyclist or another car windshield or could of caused an accident. It scared me just as it hit my windshield and flew off, not to mention rubber molding was flapping around. I drive 25 mi back and forth 5 days a week to my employment, I find it very hard to believe that this isnt considered a defect, when the service department is admiting that both panels need to be replaced with improved frame and trim please help me, cost is over $285 and Ford is not offering any sort of help. The cs rep were not professional either, refused to let me speak to a supervisor and when one came on she was also very unprofessional. I like to write down names and id # and she refused to provide last name and just chuckled before saying didnt matter how many times I called my case was closed.

In June 2014 I noticed exhaust fumes in cabin while driving up hill and figured it was coming from the vehicle in front of me. On a early morning I accelerated up the hill with no cars in front of me I smelled exhaust fumes in cabin. Then I noticed more and more under heavy acceleration the cabin fills with exhaust fumes. (entering highway, passing vehicles and going up hills).

I was driving down the road at 60 mph when window trim on right side flew off. A simple google search reveals that this is a chronic & recurring defect, one that is very dangerous to other drivers and pedestrians as well. I have already had to replace the left side trim at a cost of over $200. Ford dealership refused to cover repair

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Explorer. While driving 55 mph, the windshield trim detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was diagnosed and the parts and repair exceeded five hundred dollars. The contact notified the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The second piece became loose and detached from the vehicle. The contact was not sure the trim was installed properly. The failure occurred intermittently. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.

Purchased a used 14 Explorer and took a 300 mile drive on remote highways. When I returned I noticed one the windshield panels was completely missing from the vehicle and the other one was also raised and appeared to be loosening. I did some research online and apparently this is a prevalent issue across 2013-14 Explorer and one which Ford doesn't even cover under its warranty- not to mention the safety hazard. I didn't even know this piece was gone until I got home. Had their been a car behind me when this flew off going 75 mph, this could have caused some serious damage or accident. I find it absurd that Ford has not issued a safety recall for this. Not to mention it costs $650 to replace every time because you need to purchase an entirely new windshield. I have no idea how Ford can continue to deny this issue considering how many message boards and posts I've seen regarding this exact issue. Can you please assist with this and raise it as a significant safety issue?

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that there was an abnormal noise coming from the front area of the vehicle near the bumper. The noise was present when the steering wheel was turned to the left or right. The dealer could not duplicate the failure initially. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer a second time and they replaced the half shaft thrust washer. On a third visit to the dealer, they provided a test drive, replaced the passenger side struts, and inspected the nuts and bolts; however, the noise continued. The vehicle was taken to the dealer's body shop. The technician moved the front bumper and replaced the front passenger side body apron panel along with new bolts, but the noise continued. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000.

When my husband closed the hood it dented. One should have a reasonable expectation that when you close the hood that the metal will not bend. I believe that the aluminum that they are using is of too thin/ inferior grade. I would hate to see what would happen if there was an accident if the hood could bend so easily from just closing the hood.
